Top 5 Crusher Tips
·
Floor it!
– Once warm, run the machine on full throttle for maximum
output and maximum efficiency.
·
Plan your crusher hire
- Sometimes it is more efficient to take a wall down or lift a base and feed it
directly into a crusher. Breaking, moving, stock-piling, crushing and moving
crush again can be extremely costly in terms of time and effort.
·
Think about where you’re aiming
– as well as creating piles of output material, crushers can fill barrows and
loaders directly. Crush can then easily be moved to exactly where it is needed.
·
Trial and error
– to create a very small output material it can sometimes be quicker to crush to
a larger size, set the jaws closer and crush again. Don’t be afraid to
experiment.
·
Don’t overload
– loading huge quantities of material into the hopper at
one time isn’t always the most efficient way to work. Overloading can cause the
rubble to jam in the hopper and not fall into the jaws. If a blockage occurs the
hopper will need to be emptied and that takes time.
Insurance
Once the HIRER accepts and signs for a Concrete Crusher, liability for that machine is passed over to the hirer (under the CPA’s Model Conditions For The Hiring Of Plant). Crush It! strongly recommends Hired In Plant Insurance as this can save the hirer large sums of money should anything unforeseen take place. An example would be that if the machine were to be stolen during the hire period, the hirer would be liable not only for the cost of the stolen machine but also for lost revenue in the form of hires, for the period during which the owner is without a machine.
